| Overview |
Mt. Miwa, from its beautiful appearance, has been the object of worship from ancient times as the mountain where a deity resides. There are three places of iwakura worships at the top, middle and base of the mountain. Omiwa Shrine at the base of Mt. Miwa does not have a main hall and is directly linked to Mt. Miwa in that the mountain is the shrine's shintai, or "kami-body", testifying iwakura worships at the back of the worship hall. The rituals are thought to have been held by ancient states. |
